Bowel cancer, commonly called Colorectal Cancer, is again one of the most commonly affecting cancer to humans globally. As the name suggests, colorectal cancer usually starts as small polyps and gradually develops into cancer over time, affecting the colon or rectum of a human body. Symptoms of Colorectal Cancer


In general, colorectal cancer does not majorly show symptoms in early stages. Symptoms appear in later stages mostly. Though certain symptoms may seem similar or related to other digestive disorders, one must seek immediate medical attention, if they persist. Symptoms may include:
- Constant diarrhea, constipation or narrowing of stool for weeks
- Blood in stool, making it look brighter red or dark colored.

Multiple factors can increase Risks of developing Colorectal Cancer, including:
- AGE FACTOR: Generally, people over 50 are at higher risk of colorectal cancer. However, newer studies show cases in younger adults are on rise.
- Genetic or people with a family history of colorectal cancer in close relatives may also be at higher risk.
- Certain lifestyle factors including consumption of processed meat, low fibre intake, obesity, excessive consumption of alcohol, smoking etc, contribute to a higher risk.
- Certain chronic conditions like inflammatory bowel may also raise the risk.
